Tax incentives and/or other incentives for drivers of electric vehicles in Nashua.
A NEV is any four-wheel electric vehicle capable of achieving a top speed between 20 and 25 miles per hour (mph) and complies with the federal equipment and safety standards in Title 49 of the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations, section 571.500. NEVs may only operate on roads that have a posted speed limit of 35 mph or less, but are not restricted from crossing roadways with speeds limits greater than 35 mph.

The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) provides U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA) funding for projects that reduce diesel emissions in New Hampshire. Funding for up to 100% of eligible project costs is available for businesses, individuals, and local or state agencies that reduce diesel emissions by converting engines to alternative fuels, retrofitting exhaust controls, purchasing new vehicles, or adding idle reduction equipment. Eligible alternative fuels include propane, compressed natural gas, and electricity. Grants will be awarded on a competitive basis, with equity and environmental justice considerations as part of the evaluation criteria. NHEC offers residential customers a rebate of $1,000 for the purchase or lease of a new or used electric vehicle, $600 for the purchase or lease of a new or pre-owned plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, and $300 for the purchase or lease of a new or pre-owned electric motorcycle. NHEC offers a TOU rate to residential customers that own or lease an EV. Customers must be able to separately meter EV charging. For more information, see the NHEC Drive Electric website.
An individual may not park a motor vehicle in a parking space equipped with a public electric vehicle charging station unless the vehicle is an EV.

New Hampshire utilities joined the National Electric Highway Coalition (NEHC), committing to create a network of direct current fast charging (DCFC) stations connecting major highway systems from the Atlantic Coast to the Pacific of the United States. NEHC utility members agree to ensure efficient and effective fast charging deployment plans that enable long distance EV travel, avoiding duplication among coalition utilities, and complement existing corridor DCFC sites. In addition to standard vehicle registration fees, EV owners must pay an annual fee of $100 and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle owners must pay an annual fee of $50.
